Mermaids have long captivated the minds and imaginations of land dwellers. We see them move, and we are mesmerized by their figure and magic. Have you ever wondered what mermaids eat? Do they eat human food? Do they order take out? Do they make their own food? Dive with us to learn the food pallet of mermaids.
Since mermaids are part human they have similar tastes to us, but since they are a part of the ocean family, they don’t eat seafood. Mermaids are vegetarians. Mermaids love seaweed, kelp, and sea lettuce for their salads.
There aren’t many fast-food restaurants that have expanded to the ocean. Occasionally, mermaids swim to Bikini Bottom for a bite to eat at the renowned restaurant, the Krusty Crab, and get the famous Krabby Patty. Yes, the Krabby Patty is vegetarian. It is made of a meatless frozen burger and is topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and onions.
Mermaids also have a sweet tooth. On land, we love our chocolate cake, ice cream, and cheesecake but under the sea some of the favorite desserts are kelp candy, seashell cookies, and coral reef cake.
Mermaids eat a large variety of foods but their meals are typically limited to things which can be found in the ocean. The next time you see a mermaid, share with them your mac and cheese or Caesar salad.
